Discover Concarneau and its famous Ville Close! You can visit the Fishery Museum and the Marinarium, gaze at the beautiful sandy beaches from the little Celtic Train. On the way out of the city you can opt for a cultural trip and discover the Château de Kériolet, dwelling of a famous Russian imperial princess.
The Breton Riviera is the haven of our splendid “breton Caribbean”. Embark for the Glénan Archipelago with the companies Vedettes de l’Odet, Croisières Bleues or Glénan Découverte. Enjoy a day at the beach in one of the beautiful coves of Beg-Meil, and do not forget to make a detour by Port-la-Forêt to admire some famous racing sailboats!
East of Pont-Aven, let’s discover Quimperlé and its surroundings. The land of “rias” offers a variety of picturesque ports such as Doëlan, Brigneau, Merrien or Rosbras, but also natural sites such as the Roches du Diable, or “Devil’s rocks”. After your visit of Pont-Aven you can follow Gauguin’s steps by visiting the Maison Musée du Pouldu where he used to stay. And do not forget to visit the Manoir de Kernault and its family-friendly exhibitions!
At about 45 minutes from De Concarneau à Pont-Aven, discover the Pays Bigouden and its famous breton headdresses from Pont-l’Abbé. You can also enjoy the fishing arrival of the day from the panoramic terrace of Haliotika – Cité de la Pêche in Le Guilvinec, climb the stairs of the Eckmühl lighthouse in Penmarc’h or surf on the majestic waves of the Pointe de la Torche…
Go West: the Pointe du Raz will amaze you, either in good or bad weather! You might catch sight of the lighthouse of “la Vieille” and the island of Sein… or even visit it with the companies Penn Ar Bed or Finist’Mer! Once back on land, discover the adorable city of Pont-Croix!
At less than 30 minutes away from Concarneau, Quimper will seduce you with its gothic cathedral, its cobbled streets and its half-timbered houses. The Musée Départemental Breton, the Fine Arts Museum and the faïence manufacture can witness for the cultural attraction of the town. Enjoy a peaceful cruise on the Odet river to admire the old manors built on the riverbanks.
At a few kilometers away, visit one of the “most beautiful village of France”: Locronan, an old Renaissance village entirely built in granite.
At a few kilometers away from Tourc’h, wander around the domain of Trévarez and visit its fantastic castle and its temporary exhibitions. The park is an ever changing paradise, according to the seasons: Rhododendrons and Azaleas in spring, carpet of flaming leaves in autumn and sparkling lights for Christmas.
At about an hour away from our destination, let’s visit Brest, the metropolis of Finistère! Visit the dockyard, the port of the Moulin Blanc, the workshops of the Capuchins accessible by cable car… And, most of all, dive into the oceans by exploring the three pavilions of Océanopolis!
It’s a bit further away but worth the detour: Plougonvelin and the Pointe Saint-Mathieu with its lighthouse and the ruins of an old abbey. Just a short walk away: the Museum Mémoire 39-45.
