The trail of Port Manec’h

The hiking trail n°4 is 10,3 km long and takes about 3:15h. A car park is located next to the Saint Nicolas’s church of Port Manec’h where the trail does start.

From that point on,  white and yellow marks displaying the number “4”  will guide you on the path. The walk starts with the discovery of the beautiful beach of Saint-Nicolas and its white bathing cabins from the XIXth century. You will then explore the riverbank of the Aven towards the Poulguin manor.

From the Poulguin to the Hénan you will probably notice mussel and oyster-farming. At the Kerochet cove you will find former slipways testifying of the intense granite extraction activity which animated the Aven’s river bank until the beginning of the XXth century. The way back goes through wooded paths and Névez’s countryside.

The coastal path will offer you a great view over the Atlantic ocean. You will pass by the famous granite rock known as “God’s finger” and by the white and red lighthouse to reach the beautiful harbour of Port Manec’h.
